Paediatric Conditions

Dr McKenzie is a surgeon who specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions related to the ears, nose, throat, head, and neck.

Paediatric conditions treated by Dr Jo-Lyn McKenzie include:

  • Ear disorders: Otolaryngologists treat conditions such as ear infections, hearing loss, tinnitus (ringing in the ears), vertigo (dizziness), glue ear, and ear wax buildup.

  • Nose and sinus disorders: They treat conditions such as sinus infections, allergies, nasal congestion, nasal deformities, and nasal polyps.

  • Throat disorders: Otolaryngologists treat conditions such as tonsillitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis, voice disorders, and swallowing disorders.

  • Head and neck disorders: They treat conditions such as head and neck cancers, thyroid disorders, salivary gland disorders, and facial trauma.

  • Sleep disorders: Otolaryngologists also treat sleep-related disorders such as sleep apnea, snoring, and insomnia.

Dr McKenzie is delighted to be able to offer an intermediate list at the Queensland Children's Hospital (QCH), meaning she is one of only a handful of surgeons who can operate on private patients at QCH for a much lower hospital fee (~10 per cent) than a private hospital.
